Census 2027 Goes Digital: Citizens Can Self-Enroll Online

Census 2027 Goes Digital with Online Self-Enumeration

Hamirpur (Kameshwar Sharma): The Census 2027 Goes Digital initiative has officially started across India, introducing a fully digital self-enumeration system for citizens. For the first time, people can upload their personal and family information online without waiting for census officials to visit their homes.

The government has opened the self-enumeration portal, se.census.gov.in, from June 1 to June 15, 2026. During this period, citizens can enter their household details online and contribute directly to the national census process. Officials believe this digital approach will make data collection faster, more efficient, and more accurate.

Hamirpur Launches Digital Census Campaign

As part of the Census 2027 Goes Digital initiative, Municipal Corporation Hamirpur Commissioner Rakesh Sharma uploaded his own information on the portal and formally launched the self-enumeration campaign in the district.

Moreover, he informed residents that the online self-enumeration facility will remain available from June 1 to June 15. After completing the registration process, users will receive a unique identification number as confirmation of successful submission.

Therefore, citizens can complete the census process conveniently from their homes while ensuring the accuracy of their information.

Citizens Encouraged to Participate Online

Rakesh Sharma appealed to residents to make maximum use of the self-enumeration portal. He emphasized that direct participation by citizens will improve the quality of census data and help authorities complete the exercise more efficiently.

Furthermore, families can verify and update their information before submission. As a result, the Census 2027 Goes Digital campaign is expected to reduce data errors and improve the reliability of demographic records.

Officials also noted that digital participation will streamline the entire process and reduce administrative workload.

House Listing Phase to Start from June 16

Following the online self-enumeration period, authorities will begin the next phase of the census exercise.

According to officials, house listing and housing census operations will take place from June 16 to July 15, 2026. During this stage, trained enumerators will visit homes to collect additional information and verify census records.

In addition, authorities have requested citizens to cooperate fully with census staff during field visits.

Census Data Supports National Development

Officials highlighted that census information serves as the foundation for government planning and policy-making. Accurate population data helps authorities allocate resources, develop infrastructure projects, implement welfare programs, and plan future development initiatives.

Therefore, the success of the Census 2027 Goes Digital initiative will play a vital role in creating reliable data for national growth and governance.

Moreover, accurate census records help governments identify community needs and formulate effective development strategies.

Administration Urges Public Cooperation

The Municipal Corporation has encouraged all residents to participate actively in the online census process. Officials stressed that every citizen’s contribution is important for creating a comprehensive and accurate national database.

Furthermore, authorities urged people to complete their self-enumeration before the June 15 deadline and assist enumerators during the subsequent house-listing phase.

Consequently, officials expect strong public participation in the Census 2027 Goes Digital campaign.
