Cashless Treatment up to ₹1.5 Lakh for Road Accident Victims Under Relief Scheme: DC Kangra

Cashless Treatment Scheme for Accident Victims in Kangra

To ensure effective implementation of the Prime Minister’s Relief Scheme and enhance public awareness, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kangra organized a one-day awareness workshop at the Deputy Commissioner’s auditorium in Dharamshala on Monday.

The workshop was chaired by Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, who highlighted the benefits of the scheme aimed at providing immediate cashless medical treatment to road accident victims.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that the scheme allows cashless treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh per person. He emphasized that accident victims must be admitted to an empanelled hospital within 24 hours of the incident to ensure timely medical care and eligibility under the scheme.

Officials informed participants that the scheme covers emergency medical services, surgeries, ICU treatment, and other essential healthcare facilities. The benefits apply equally to all road accident victims, including drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.

The process has been simplified through an IT-based system to ensure transparency and smooth implementation of the scheme.

RTO Dharamshala Vikas Jambal stressed that effective coordination between departments and increased public awareness are crucial for the success of the initiative. He urged citizens not to panic in case of a road accident and to immediately contact the nearest hospital or police station to avail benefits under the scheme.

Officials and staff members from the health department, police department, and other related departments participated in the workshop and received detailed information about the scheme.
