Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO held a direct public interaction with residents at villages Fatehpur Rajputan Khurd and Gill village in the Jandiala Guru constituency to mark the completion of four years of the Punjab Government.
Addressing the gathering, the minister shared details about key development initiatives and achievements accomplished under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He stated that for the first time in the country’s history, a state government has introduced a health insurance scheme providing coverage of up to ₹10 lakh for citizens.
Harbhajan Singh ETO said that unlike previous governments, which focused on development activities only during their final year in office, the present government began fulfilling its guarantees from the very first year of its tenure.
He highlighted major reforms carried out over the past four years in sectors including healthcare, education, employment, industrial development, and infrastructure. The minister noted that revolutionary changes were introduced in the healthcare sector through the health insurance scheme, ensuring free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for every eligible citizen.
Speaking about women empowerment initiatives, he said financial assistance of ₹1,000 has been provided to women from the general category, while women belonging to Scheduled Caste communities receive ₹1,500 to strengthen their economic independence.
In the education sector, significant investments have been made to upgrade government schools, bringing facilities at par with private institutions. He also emphasized that large-scale employment opportunities have been created, with jobs provided purely on merit without recommendations.
The minister further stated that the government has launched a strong campaign against drug trafficking to improve law and order, with strict action taken against those involved in illegal activities.
Highlighting infrastructure development, he said crores of rupees have been spent on road renovation, construction of bridges, and major development projects to strengthen Punjab’s infrastructure.
Harbhajan Singh ETO added that around 90% of households in Punjab are now receiving zero electricity bills, providing substantial financial relief to residents. He asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party government has demonstrated that significant change is possible within a short period when governance is driven by honest intentions.
He expressed confidence that under Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, Punjab will continue progressing toward greater development and prosperity.
Several local leaders and villagers attended the event, including village sarpanches and community representatives.
