The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislative party staged a protest inside the Assembly against the government’s decision to increase entry tax and impose a cess on petrol and diesel.
BJP legislators held a sit-in demonstration, strongly opposing the decisions and claiming that the measures would place an additional financial burden on common citizens as well as traders. The party demanded the immediate rollback of both decisions.
According to BJP leaders, the increase in fuel cess would lead to rising inflation and higher transportation costs, ultimately affecting daily life and increasing the cost of essential goods.
The opposition accused the government of implementing anti-people policies and alleged that the decisions would negatively impact businesses and the general public. Raising slogans and registering their protest within the Assembly premises, BJP MLAs sought urgent reconsideration of the policies.
The protest intensified political tensions in the Assembly, with the opposition attempting to corner the government over economic policies and their potential impact on the state’s economy and citizens.
