Big Relief for Punjab Women as Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana Goes Live

Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana Starts Across Punjab

Sangrur: The Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana officially began on July 1 as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched the flagship welfare scheme from his Assembly constituency, Dhuri. The initiative fulfills one of the Aam Aadmi Party government’s key election promises by providing monthly financial assistance to eligible women across the state.

Moreover, lakhs of beneficiaries started receiving SMS alerts confirming that the government had credited the first installment to their bank accounts.

Women Receive Three Months’ Financial Assistance

Under the Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana, women from the general category will receive ₹1,000 per month, while women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive ₹1,500 per month.

The Punjab Government has released the first payment as a combined amount covering three months. Consequently, eligible beneficiaries began receiving the money from July 1.

Officials estimate that the scheme will benefit nearly 97% of women in Punjab.

More Than 44 Lakh Women Register for the Scheme

The Punjab Government opened registrations for the Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana on April 13. Since then, women across the state have registered in large numbers.

By 9 a.m. on July 1, 44.41 lakh women had completed registration. This figure includes 14.28 lakh Scheduled Caste women and 30.13 lakh women from the general category.

Furthermore, nearly 8.99 lakh women registered during the last five days of June alone. Earlier, the registration count stood at 35.42 lakh on June 26.

Government Credits Funds to Nearly 32 Lakh Women

The Punjab Government transferred the first installment directly into the bank accounts of nearly 32 lakh women on July 1.

Meanwhile, officials will transfer funds to the remaining eligible beneficiaries in phases over the coming days. This phased approach will ensure that every eligible woman receives financial assistance without unnecessary delays.

Eligible Women Will Continue to Receive Benefits

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has clarified that eligible women who complete their registration in the coming months will also receive benefits from July 1.

Therefore, newly registered beneficiaries will not lose financial assistance for the period after the scheme’s official launch. The government plans to continue registrations while ensuring that every eligible woman receives the intended support.

Scheme Strengthens Women’s Financial Security

The Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana aims to improve the financial security of women across Punjab. Besides providing direct financial assistance, the scheme seeks to strengthen household income and empower women economically.

Officials believe the initiative will improve the financial well-being of millions of families while expanding the state’s social welfare coverage.
