Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested four suspects after a targeted intelligence-based operation.
The arrested accused include:
- Samarbir Singh alias Simar (21)
- Satnam Singh alias Satta (23)
- Tanupreet Singh (26)
- Karanjot Singh alias Sajan (26)
Police acted quickly after receiving credible inputs about illegal arms movement in the city.
Weapons Recovered in Operation
During the Arms Smuggling Bust Police Operation, police recovered:
- 2 Glock 9MM pistols (Austria-made)
- 4 .30 bore pistols (China-made)
- 1 additional .30 bore pistol
In total, officers seized seven modern illegal firearms ready for criminal use.
Pakistan-Linked Drone Smuggling Network
Investigations revealed a shocking cross-border link.
Police said accused contacted Pakistan-based handlers through social media platforms. The network used drones to drop illegal weapons across the border.
Local operatives collected the weapons and supplied them to criminal elements in Punjab.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav confirmed that police are tracking deeper links of this network.
How Police Cracked the Case
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the operation started with secret intelligence input.
Officers first arrested Samarbir Singh with two Glock pistols. Later, interrogation led to three more arrests and additional recoveries.

Police registered FIR No. 70 under the Arms Act at Cantonment Police Station, Amritsar.
