Madhya Pradesh: Authorities in Ujjain district have taken strict action after a firecracker explosion during a Muharram procession in Badnagar shocked the region. The administration has imposed the National Security Act (NSA) on three main accused involved in the incident. Vehicle Lifted 40 Feet Before Explosion
The incident occurred at Jai Stambh Chowk during a Muharram procession. Officials say a crane lifted a Tata Magic vehicle nearly 40 feet into the air.
After that, people ignited firecrackers inside the vehicle while it remained elevated. As a result, a powerful explosion took place when pressure built up inside the closed vehicle.
Glass pieces and metal fragments flew into the crowd. However, fortunately, the incident did not cause any deaths or serious injuries.
Three Accused Booked Under NSA
Acting on instructions from Ujjain Collector Roshan Kumar Singh, authorities initiated NSA proceedings against three individuals: Shoaib Gabbu Khan, Zahid Khan, and Tapsil alias Taslim.
Moreover, police shifted all three accused to Central Bhairavgarh Jail under heavy security. Officials said the move was necessary to prevent any threat to public safety.
Investigation Expands With ATS Involvement
The seriousness of the incident prompted the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Bomb Disposal Squad to join the investigation.
In addition, police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Explosives Act. Officials have already arrested nine people in connection with the case.
Investigators are also examining a message on the vehicle that reads “Le Phir Aa Gaye” (We are back again). Authorities are trying to determine whether the message had any planned intent or symbolic meaning.
