Anti-Drug Awareness Run Unites Youth in Kullu

Kullu (Kameshwar Sharma): The Anti-Drug Awareness Run Kullu campaign brought together hundreds of young people at Dhalpur Ground on Sunday. Team Sahbhagita organized the event to spread awareness about drug abuse and encourage a healthy lifestyle. Participants also pledged to build a drug-free society by raising the slogan, “Run to Win, Never Let Drugs In.”

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, athletes, and local residents. As a result, the campaign delivered a strong message about the importance of staying away from drugs.

Community Leaders Support the Campaign

Chief guest Ajay Kumar, Pradhan of Bashing Gram Panchayat, praised the initiative. According to him, fighting drug abuse requires active participation from every section of society. He also distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged participants to continue supporting anti-drug campaigns.

Experts Encourage Healthy Living

Meanwhile, special guest Dr. Lal Singh, former Regional Director of MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, urged young people to stay away from drugs. Instead, he encouraged them to focus on sports, education, and nation-building.

Health educator Mamta also addressed the gathering. During her session, she explained the harmful effects of drug addiction. Furthermore, she shared preventive measures and highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Team Sahbhagita Calls It a People’s Movement

Team Sahbhagita President and Director Biju Himdal described the event as more than just a race. According to him, the campaign represents a growing public movement against drug abuse.

Moreover, he said the organization aims to unite young people and inspire positive social change. He added that Team Sahbhagita will continue organizing similar awareness programmes in different areas to expand the campaign.

Winners of the Competition

The competition witnessed impressive performances in both categories.

In the girls’ category, Kashish Thakur secured first place, followed by Shweta Rana in second and Disha Thakur in third.

Similarly, Karan Dev won the boys’ category. Manoj finished second, while Ranjit Singh claimed third place.

Strong Support Ensures Successful Event

The District Athletics Association, Yuva Mandal Bashing, and Kullu Sports Academy played a key role in organizing the event.

In addition, several Team Sahbhagita office-bearers and volunteers attended the programme. They included Vice President Raj Singhania, Sports Coordinator Chetan Thakur, Secretariat Head Aman Bharti, Secretary Neha Sharma, District Coordinator Tarun, Treasurer Sanju, and volunteers Vivaan, Ananya, Chand, Pawan, and Mohit.

Overall, the Anti-Drug Awareness Run Kullu successfully encouraged young people to reject drugs and embrace healthy living. Ultimately, the event reinforced the message that community participation and youth leadership are essential for building a drug-free society.
