Amritsar ITI Marks World Environment Day with Plantation

World Environment Day Celebrated at Amritsar ITI Campus

Amritsar (Suraj Kamlesh): The World Environment Day Amritsar ITI celebration took place at Government ITI Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment toward environmental protection.

The event focused on spreading awareness about environmental conservation and encouraging students to take responsibility for a greener future. Municipal Corporation Amritsar Mayor Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatti attended the program as the chief guest.

Warm Welcome and Participation of Staff & Students

The institute staff warmly welcomed the chief guest. Principal Eng. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, along with faculty members and NSS coordinator Ranjit Singh, actively participated in the event.

In addition, several other staff members and students joined the celebration, making the event highly participatory and meaningful.

15 Saplings Planted on Campus

As part of the World Environment Day Amritsar ITI initiative, Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatti planted 15 saplings on the institute campus.

The plantation drive included fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees such as mango, guava, and neem. This step aimed to enhance green cover and promote environmental sustainability within the campus.

Moreover, students and staff collectively pledged to take care of the newly planted saplings and contribute actively to environmental protection efforts.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatti emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility. He said every citizen must actively contribute to preserving nature.

He also warned that rising global temperatures are creating serious environmental imbalances. These changes, if not addressed, may pose a threat to all forms of life on Earth, including humans.

Therefore, he urged citizens to plant more trees and protect natural resources for future generations.

Municipal Corporation Plans Large Plantation Drive

During the World Environment Day Amritsar ITI event, the Mayor also announced that the Municipal Corporation will launch a large-scale plantation drive during the upcoming monsoon season.

The initiative aims to make Amritsar a greener and cleaner city. Furthermore, the campaign will encourage citizens to participate actively in tree plantation activities.
