Amritsar Census 2027 Online Self-Enumeration Begins Soon

Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): The preparations for Census 2027 have officially begun, with the district administration announcing full readiness for the upcoming nationwide population count. According to Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Amritsar, IAS Dalwinderjit Singh, this time the entire census process will be conducted in a highly advanced digital format.

The Amritsar Census 2027 is expected to be one of the most technologically upgraded census exercises, introducing online self-enumeration along with field-level digital data collection.

Digital and High-Tech Census System for Census 2027

Officials confirmed that the Census will not follow traditional paper-based methods. Instead, a complete digital system will be used for data collection and processing.

For the convenience of citizens, a self-enumeration facility has also been introduced. Under this system, people will be able to enter their household details online without visiting any government office.

The official portal for Census 2027 will be active from 30 April 2026 to 14 May 2026 at https://se.census.gov.in/. During this period, residents can submit their family information directly from home.

Self-Enumeration Facility for Citizens of Census 2027

The self-enumeration feature is a major highlight of Amritsar Census 2027. It aims to make the process easier, faster, and more transparent.

Citizens will be able to log in to the official census portal and fill in details related to their household, members, and other required information. This initiative is expected to reduce field workload and improve data accuracy.

Field Survey After Online Phase

After the completion of the online self-enumeration phase, the field survey for Amritsar Census 2027 will begin from 15 May and continue till 13 June 2026.

Trained enumerators will visit households across urban and rural areas to collect and verify data. Mobile applications will be used for real-time digital data entry during the field survey.

Authorities have emphasized that Amritsar Census 2027 data collection will be fully monitored to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Large Workforce and Training Program

To ensure smooth execution of Amritsar Census 2027, the district administration has deployed a large workforce. Around 3,100 government employees have been assigned census duties across villages and towns.

In addition, 2,700 employees have been deployed within the Municipal Corporation limits of Amritsar city.

Training sessions for census staff are being conducted in phases. Field trainers have already completed initial training, while additional sessions are scheduled across different tehsils including Baba Bakala Sahib, Majitha, Ajnala, Lopoke, Amritsar-1, and Amritsar-2.

Officials stated that the training is a crucial part of Amritsar Census 2027, as enumerators will directly enter household data using mobile applications.

Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh has directed all officers and staff involved in Amritsar Census 2027 to ensure transparency, accuracy, and full responsibility during the entire process.

He emphasized that census data plays a vital role in national planning, policy-making, and development programs. Therefore, every effort must be made to collect precise and reliable information.

The administration aims to ensure that Census sets a benchmark for digital governance and efficient data collection in India.
