All India Kisan Sabha Demands Crop Compensation After Storm Damage in Punjab

Kisan Sabha Seeks Compensation for Crop Loss in Punjab

A meeting of the All India Kisan Sabha was held under the leadership of Senior President Comrade Sucha Singh Ajnala in Amritsar to discuss the severe crop losses caused by recent adverse weather conditions across the region.

Releasing the meeting’s decisions to the press, District General Secretary Comrade Swinder Singh Mirankot said that recent heavy rains, strong winds, and hailstorms have caused significant damage to standing crops, leaving farmers in distress.

He urged the Punjab Government to immediately assess the losses and provide adequate compensation to affected farmers without delay. He emphasized that farmers are already burdened with heavy debt, and further financial losses could worsen their economic condition.

The leaders also announced that the Samyukt Kisan Morcha will organize a protest demonstration on April 6 at a government office to press for farmers’ demands. Workers and members of the All India Kisan Sabha are expected to participate in large numbers.

The meeting was attended by Avtar Singh, Ramesh Singh, Swinder Singh Adliwal, Darbara Singh, Sarabjit Singh, and other members who expressed solidarity with farmers facing crop damage.

Farm leaders reiterated their commitment to continue democratic protests until relief measures are announced for affected farmers.
