AGTF Punjab Arrests Two Shooters in Ferozepur Case

Ferozepur: The AGTF Punjab Arrests Two Shooters delivered a major breakthrough in the Ferozepur murder case. Punjab Police acted quickly and arrested two shooters from Rajasthan.

Moreover, the operation took place under instructions from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He directed strict action to control gang-related crime in Punjab.

In addition, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) worked closely with Ferozepur Police and Jammu & Kashmir Police. Together, they executed a well-planned joint action.

Two Rajasthan Shooters Arrested

Police identified the accused as Vishnu Kumar from Bharatpur and Rahul Mahawar from Kota in Rajasthan. During the AGTF Punjab arrest operation, police recovered a .30 bore Beretta pistol and 10 live cartridges.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that both accused worked as shooters in multiple criminal activities. They moved across states to avoid arrest.

Murder Case That Triggered Operation

The investigation began after a brutal killing in Makhhu, Ferozepur, on June 1, 2026. Two motorcycle-borne attackers shot shopkeeper Gurcharan Singh Gaba.

As a result, the victim died on the spot after three bullets were fired at close range. The incident created fear in the local area.

Therefore, police launched a large-scale search operation immediately. This search later evolved into the AGTF Punjab arrest operation.

Criminal History and Reward Details

According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, accused Vishnu Kumar already faced several criminal cases. His record includes extortion, robbery, theft, and Arms Act violations.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Police announced a ₹10,000 reward for his capture. This reward further helped intelligence teams track movements.

Consequently, police intensified surveillance across Rajasthan and nearby states.

Operation “Hill Trap” Activated

ADGP Promod Ban revealed that AGTF launched a special mission named “Hill Trap.” Initially, teams raided multiple locations in Rajasthan.

However, suspects kept changing locations to avoid capture. Later, intelligence inputs showed that both accused had moved to Jammu and Kashmir.

Therefore, Punjab Police coordinated with J&K Police and Ferozepur Police to plan a joint interception strategy.

Arrest Near Patnitop-Kud Road

Finally, police teams intercepted the accused near a checkpoint on Patnitop-Kud road in Jammu and Kashmir.

When officers stopped them, the suspects tried to escape. However, alert police teams acted immediately and blocked their movement.

As a result, officers successfully arrested both shooters along with their weapon. This marked a key success in the AGTF Punjab Arrests Two Shooters.

Investigation Expands Further

Meanwhile, Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu confirmed that police continue to investigate the broader conspiracy.

He stated that teams now track individuals who planned, funded, or supported the attack. Additionally, investigators suspect a wider criminal network.

So far, police have registered FIR No. 111 dated 01.06.2026 at Police Station Makhhu under BNS Sections 103 and 3(5), along with Arms Act Sections 25 and 27.
