Amritsar/Ajnala: A special event dedicated to the festival of Baisakhi was organized by the Majha Virasat Trust, where an audio musical poem titled “Kadon Partange Din?” along with its poster was officially released.
Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party senior leader, MLA, and former Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal attended the event as the chief guest. He also serves as the Chairman of the Hasham Shah Memorial Trust.
While addressing the gathering, Dhaliwal appreciated the initiative and highlighted the Punjab Government’s efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to promote Punjabi language, literature, and culture. He stated that strong cultural policies have been implemented to tackle the negative impacts of globalization and social media.
He further added that the government is encouraging Punjabi writers, artists, and singers through awards and recognition. At the same time, efforts are being made to preserve historical and heritage sites to connect the younger generation with their cultural roots.
Praising the poem written by poet and Trust President S. Prashotam, Dhaliwal said that “Kadon Partange Din?” beautifully reflects serious contemporary issues such as environmental degradation, drying water bodies, and the commercialization of natural spaces. He also pointed out that political rivalry and social divisions are overshadowing the true spirit of Baisakhi.
He described the poem as highly relevant in today’s times and appreciated its poetic expression of pressing social concerns.
On this occasion, the Majha Virasat Trust honored Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal with the “Rangle Punjab Award” and presented him with a traditional shawl in recognition of his contributions to Punjabi language, literature, and culture.
Prominent attendees included poet S. Prashotam, city president Amit Aul, cultural activist Dilbagh Singh Khatraye Kalan, Harjit Singh Sarkaria, Pankaj Singh Ajnala, singers Surinder Ajnalvi and Darpindra, Dr. Inderjit Singh Mehlanwala, Kabal Singh Chheena, and a large number of art lovers.
