Amritsar Meeting Boosts Punjab’s War Against Drugs

Under the Punjab Government’s ongoing “War Against Drugs” campaign, an important meeting was organized today by the Nasha Mukti Morcha (Urban) Amritsar at Bachhat Bhawan to strengthen anti-drug initiatives across the city.

The meeting was conducted under the leadership of Nasha Mukti Morcha Urban In-charge Dixit Dhawan, where detailed discussions were held on making the anti-drug campaign more effective and result-oriented at the grassroots level.

Addressing the gathering, Dhawan stated that drug addiction has emerged as a serious social challenge and can only be eliminated through collective efforts. He urged office bearers and volunteers to actively engage with local communities and spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, especially among the youth.

He further emphasized that the Punjab Government is taking concrete steps to eradicate drug abuse, while the Nasha Mukti Morcha is playing a crucial role in implementing these initiatives at the ground level.

During the meeting, it was decided that large-scale awareness drives, seminars, and anti-drug camps will be organized in the coming months to educate people and prevent substance abuse.

Several office bearers and members of Nasha Mukti Morcha Amritsar Urban attended the meeting and assured full cooperation in strengthening the fight against drugs. Among those present were constituency in-charges Jai Butter, Manjit Singh Fauji, Kulwant Singh Wadali, Sahib Singh Gill, Raheel Seth, along with vice constituency in-charges and block presidents.

The initiative reflects the administration’s continued focus on community participation in combating drug abuse in Punjab.
