Students of Anand College of Nursing celebrated World Autism Day by organizing an awareness program at DAV Red Cross School to educate children and teachers about autism and promote social sensitivity toward children with special needs.
During the event, nursing students provided detailed information about autism, including its symptoms, possible causes, and methods of care and support. The topic was presented in a simple and engaging manner using posters and charts to help students and teachers better understand the condition.
Various activities were also organized for children, including dance and painting sessions, creating an interactive and inclusive environment. The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness about autism in society and encourage empathy and understanding toward individuals with special needs.
The initiative was appreciated by the college management, including Chairman Dr. M.M., Vice Chairman Dr. J.S. Dhillon, Managing Director Surya Prakash Anand, Campus Director Renu Thakur, Principal Rachna Kumari, Nursing Advisor Usha Sareen, and Vice Principal Ramanjit Kaur Sohal. They praised the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue organizing similar awareness programs in the future.
The event highlighted the importance of community awareness and collective responsibility in supporting children with autism.
