Woman Arrested in Rohru for Repeated Drug Trafficking, Shimla Police Take Strict Action

Shimla Police Arrest Woman in Rohru Drug Case

Shimla district police have taken strict action against a woman allegedly involved in small-scale drug trafficking for a prolonged period in the Rohru area, arresting her after repeated violations of legal provisions.

According to police officials, the accused had been taking advantage of bailable provisions while continuing illegal narcotics activities. Acting firmly under its zero-tolerance policy against drugs, Rohru Police initiated legal proceedings that ultimately led to her arrest.

As per records, FIR No. 19/2023 was registered at Rohru Police Station under Section 20 of the NDPS Act following the recovery of 31.27 grams of charas from the accused, identified as Savarnu, a resident of Samala village in Rohru tehsil. At that time, a notice under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code was issued to ensure her cooperation in the investigation.

However, police stated that the accused violated the conditions of the notice and allegedly continued involvement in drug trafficking activities. Subsequently, another case, FIR No. 151/2025, was registered against her under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, further confirming her alleged involvement in narcotics-related offences.

Considering these developments, Rohru Police approached the competent court seeking cancellation of the notice issued under Section 41A. The court accepted the police plea and revoked the notice, after which the accused woman was arrested in accordance with legal procedures.

Shimla Police reiterated that strict enforcement is being carried out under a “zero tolerance” policy against narcotics, and strong action will continue against individuals involved in drug trafficking.
