In a major breakthrough in its ongoing anti-drug campaign, Shimla Police has recovered a large quantity of heroin (commonly known as “chitta”), marking one of the biggest drug seizures of the year. The case has been registered under FIR No. 54/26 dated March 24, 2026, under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at Baluganj Police Station.
According to police officials, the Special Cell team of Shimla Police was on routine patrol duty in the ISBT Shimla area on March 24 when they received a tip-off from an informer. Shimla Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying action against drug trafficking and ensuring stricter enforcement to curb narcotics distribution in the region.
