The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has distributed scholarship assistance worth ₹2,28,98,500 to Amritdhari students studying in educational institutions managed by the committee for the academic session 2025-26.
The scholarship cheques were handed over to representatives of various educational institutions at the SGPC office by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Dhami stated that the SGPC has consistently worked towards the promotion and propagation of Sikh values and teachings. Along with organizing Gurmat religious programs across the country, the Dharam Prachar Committee continues to run scholarship schemes for Amritdhari students enrolled in SGPC-run institutions.
Under this initiative, scholarships covering students’ educational expenses are provided annually. This year, a total of 3,743 Amritdhari students received financial assistance amounting to ₹2.28 crore.
Dhami also highlighted that the Dharam Prachar Committee conducts religious examinations every year through which additional scholarships are awarded to deserving students. He congratulated the beneficiaries and encouraged them to remain committed to Sikh values and spiritual discipline.
He further appealed to the Sikh community to connect their children with Gurbani and Sikh traditions so that more youth can benefit from such educational and religious initiatives.
Several SGPC members, administrative officials, principals, and institutional representatives were present during the event.
