Panic gripped residents after explosion-like sounds were reportedly heard inside the Bhindi Saidan Police Station located in the border town of Ajnala late last night.
According to initial information, loud blast sounds were heard from within the police station premises, creating fear and tension in the surrounding area. Soon after the incident, police personnel immediately swung into action and secured the entire station.
Officials closed the main gate of the police station and began a detailed investigation to determine the cause of the suspected explosion. Sources revealed that police teams are currently examining CCTV camera footage installed inside the premises to gather clues and establish the sequence of events.
As per preliminary reports, the blast-like sound is believed to have originated from the open backyard area of the police station located towards the agricultural fields behind the building.
So far, no police officer has issued an official statement regarding the incident. Authorities are maintaining silence until the investigation provides clear findings.
