Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): The Street Light Workers Protest drew a large gathering at Bhandari Bridge in Amritsar. The Street Light Technical Workers Union (CITU) organized the protest under the leadership of District President Tarsem Singh Deol.
Moreover, workers demanded permanent government jobs after serving on DC rates for several years.
Union Demands Permanent Employment
District General Secretary Vasudev and CITU State Vice-President Sucha Singh Ajnala addressed the gathering.
They said many workers have served on DC rates for 10 to 15 years. Therefore, they urged the Punjab Government to regularize their services without further delay.
