Amritsar (Rajesh Sandhu): The Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurgaddi Diwas was observed with devotion at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organized the main religious events.
Devotees gathered in large numbers at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). They also visited Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib. The holy sites were decorated beautifully for the occasion.
Religious Ceremonies Begin with Akhand Path
The day began with the completion of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. After that, Sikh devotees joined in kirtan performed by Hazoori Ragi Jatha.
Bhog ceremonies took place in a peaceful atmosphere. Bhai Prem Singh performed the ardas. Giani Gurmukh Singh shared the hukamnama with the sangat.
Devotees listened with full devotion during the Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurgaddi Diwas events.
Message on Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji’s Teachings
Acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj addressed the congregation. He congratulated the sangat on the Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurgaddi Diwas.
He said Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji introduced the concept of Miri-Piri. This idea connects spiritual and political strength.
He added that Guru Sahib guided Sikhs to become strong warriors. At the same time, Guru Sahib asked them to stay connected with Gurbani.
Sikh history shows many examples of sacrifice. Many warriors stood against oppression. They followed Guru Sahib’s teachings with full faith.
Concerns Over Modern Narratives
Giani Gargaj also spoke about modern legal and social narratives. He said some efforts try to separate Sikhs from Gurbani.
He urged Sikhs not to fear any law. Giani Gargaj asked them to keep Gutka Sahib and Pothis at home with respect and discipline.
Giani clearly said no law can break the bond between Sikhs and Gurbani. Garhaj repeated this message during the Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurgaddi Diwas gathering.
He also mentioned that SGPC had requested changes in certain laws. However, the government has not agreed yet.
Future Action from Sri Akal Takht Sahib
He announced that a meeting of the Panj Singh Sahiban will be held soon. This meeting will take place at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
A formal directive will be issued after discussion. Giani Gargarj said Sikhs will not accept any rule that weakens their religious connection.
He also called for unity among Sikhs. He stressed the importance of following the Miri-Piri principle in daily life.
Sikh Leaders Present at the Event
Several Sikh leaders attended the Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurgaddi Diwas program. These included Giani Baljit Singh, Giani Gurmukh Singh, and Giani Malkit Singh.
SGPC Secretary S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal also attended the event. Other officials from Sri Darbar Sahib management were present too.
Their presence made the event more significant. It also showed strong participation in the religious gathering.
