Sri Amritsar Sahib (Dawarka Nath Rana): Anger spread among farmer organizations after the alleged police action during the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) march in Chandigarh on May 15. Under the banner of the Farmers Protest Against Chandigarh Police, members of the All India Kisan Sabha held a protest and burned an effigy of the Modi government on Sunday.
Senior vice-president Comrade Sucha Singh Ajnala led the protest. Farmer leaders strongly criticized the Chandigarh Police for using lathicharge, tear gas shells, and water cannons against protesters.
Farmers Protest Against Chandigarh Police: Farmer Leaders Raise Agriculture Concerns
General Secretary Swinder Singh Mirankot addressed the gathering during the protest. He said the government continues to ignore the problems faced by farmers and poor families.
He warned that groundwater levels in Punjab are falling rapidly. According to him, the issue could create a serious crisis for agriculture in the future.
During the Farmers Protest Against Chandigarh Police, Mirankot also criticized the electricity bill and seed bill policies. He claimed these policies increase the financial burden on farmers and weaken the farming sector.

State committee member Kanwaljit Kaur, district vice-president Bhupinderjit Chhina, Swinder Singh Sidhu, Bakhtawar Singh, Vijay, Raju, and Pyara Singh Jauns also joined the protest.
