Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): The issue of Punjab Private Schools Raise Voice gained attention on Thursday after RASA Punjab members held an important meeting at Hotel Queensland in Amritsar. During the meeting, members strongly criticized the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and the Punjab government over policies related to private schools.
The meeting took place under the leadership of RASA Punjab President Jagatpal Mahajan and General Secretary Sujeet Kumar Sharma.
Members Criticize PSEB Policies
During the discussion, members raised several serious Private Schools Raise Voice. They alleged that PSEB is creating unnecessary pressure on private schools through unconstitutional and impractical policies.
According to the members, the board is continuously troubling private educational institutions. They also claimed that these policies are increasing stress on school managements, teachers, students and parents.
Furthermore, members said the board should focus on improving education quality instead of imposing unnecessary rules on schools.
Digital Birth Certificate Rule Sparks Concern

Members stated that many parents cannot arrange digital copies of birth certificates easily. As a result, students may face problems related to admissions and academic records.

Teachers Raise Concerns Over Training and Privacy
Members also accused the PSEB chairman of troubling teachers through unnecessary instructions and policies.
They said the board is calling teachers to Mohali for 50-hour training sessions. However, members argued that authorities can conduct these sessions online or at district-level centers.
According to RASA Punjab, many teachers find it difficult to travel to Mohali. In addition, members raised concerns over the collection of personal information such as mobile numbers from teachers.
They claimed that many female teachers feel uncomfortable sharing private details. Therefore, they demanded that the board respect teachers’ privacy and convenience.
School Principals Oppose Declaration Demands
Another major Private Schools Raise Voice raised during the meeting involved declaration forms demanded from school principals under Sections 223, 318, 336, 339 and 340.
RASA members described these declarations as unconstitutional and baseless. They stated that school principals are educational leaders and should not face treatment similar to criminals.
Moreover, members argued that such demands damage the dignity of school administrators and create fear among educational institutions.
RASA Punjab Accuses Board of Interference
RASA Punjab members also referred to a Supreme Court decision. According to them, the court has clearly stated that education boards cannot interfere in the internal matters of private schools.
Despite this, members accused PSEB of interfering in school operations. They claimed that the board is continuously monitoring timetables, admission records and digitization processes inside schools.
Consequently, private school representatives demanded greater autonomy and freedom in managing their institutions.
RASA Punjab Warns of Legal Action
At the end of the meeting, RASA Punjab issued a strong warning to the Punjab government and the Punjab School Education Board.
Members stated that if authorities fail to improve their policies, the organization will launch a statewide protest and begin legal action in the coming days.
Several prominent members attended the meeting, including Sushil Aggarwal, Kamaljot, Gaurav Arora, Puneet Gupta and many other representatives from private schools across Punjab.
