Tarn Taran Shooting Case Victim Family Seeks Justice

Tarn Taran Shooting Case Sparks Demand for Justice

Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): The shocking Tarn Taran Shooting Case has once again raised serious concerns about women’s safety, rising crime, and the growing influence of drugs and violent behavior among youth in Punjab.

The incident took place on February 22 when an accused youth allegedly opened fire on a young married woman named Ruby in Patti, Tarn Taran district. According to reports, the attacker targeted her after she refused to marry him. CCTV footage of the brutal attack later went viral on social media and triggered outrage across Punjab.

Accused Allegedly Opened Fire in Public

According to the victim’s family, accused Karandeep alias Karan attacked Ruby while she was going to the market with her husband. He allegedly fired three bullets with the intention to kill her and then escaped from the spot, believing she had died.

People nearby rushed the seriously injured woman to a hospital. Doctors later referred her to a major hospital in Amritsar due to her critical condition.

Medical reports revealed that bullets hit her head, mouth, and stomach. As a result, Ruby reportedly lost her mental balance and now lives in a highly critical condition.

Tarn Taran Shooting Case: Advocate Raises Questions Over Arrest Delay

Advocate Simranjit Kaur addressed a press conference in Amritsar along with the victim’s family. She claimed police initially named two accused, Karandeep alias Karan and Vishal, in the FIR.

However, investigators later added three more individuals to the case. The advocate alleged that these individuals helped supply the weapon used in the attack.

She stated that Tarandeep Singh allegedly gave his father Manjinder Singh’s licensed weapon to Karandeep. Investigators believe the accused used that weapon during the attack on Ruby.

The advocate further claimed that despite cancellation of interim bail for some accused persons, police have still not arrested them.

Family Struggles Financially

Ruby’s father said doctors have already performed two surgeries on his daughter, while several more procedures remain pending.

He explained that the family borrowed money on interest to continue treatment. However, their financial condition has become extremely weak.

The father emotionally appealed to the Punjab government and social organizations for financial assistance so that his daughter can continue medical treatment.

He also demanded strict punishment for everyone involved in the Tarn Taran Shooting Case.
