Pakistan: A senior commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Yusuf Afridi, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
According to initial reports, the attackers opened fire multiple times, leaving Afridi with no chance to escape. After carrying out the murder, the assailants fled the scene.
Afridi was reportedly a close associate of Hafiz Saeed and had been actively involved in militant activities for a long time. He was considered a key figure within the organization.
Following the incident, security agencies cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. However, the identity of the attackers remains unknown, and no group has claimed responsibility so far.
Authorities are also probing the possibility of a targeted killing, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.
