Amritsar (Rajesh Sandhu): A tragic road accident on Mehta Road in Amritsar claimed the lives of three members of a single family after a speeding car rammed into their scooter.
The incident occurred between villages Ghanshyampur and Tanel when a high-speed black Hyundai Creta hit a family traveling on an Activa scooter. According to reports, Resham Singh, a resident of village Baladwal near Ghuman, was on his way to village Bhatti with his wife Seema and daughter Kavaldeep Kaur to visit relatives.
As they reached Mehta Road, a speeding car coming from the Mehta side struck their scooter with great force. The impact was so severe that Resham Singh died on the spot, while his wife and daughter sustained critical injuries.
Upon receiving information, the road safety force and Mehta police rushed to the scene. The injured were immediately taken to Batala Civil Hospital and later referred to Amritsar due to their critical condition.
Unfortunately, Seema and Kavaldeep Kaur succumbed to their injuries during treatment at an Amritsar hospital. The death of all three family members has cast a pall of grief over the region.
The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. Locals have expressed deep sorrow and anger over the tragic incident.
