Mandi (Kameshwar Sharma): In preparation for the smooth conduct of the Municipal Corporation Mandi Elections 2026, responsibilities have been assigned to various officials for effective implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Assistant Returning Officer-cum-Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sadar Mandi, Rupinder Kaur, issued an official order outlining the roles and jurisdictions of officers to ensure strict enforcement of election guidelines.
She stated that following the State Election Commission’s notification issued on April 21, 2026, declaring the election schedule, the decision has been taken to ensure effective monitoring of MCC violations, complaint redressal, and prevention of misuse of public property within the municipal limits.
Key officials, including the Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Tehsildar Sadar Mandi (Nodal Officer MCC), and executive engineers from the Jal Shakti Department, Public Works Department, and Electricity Board, have been assigned responsibilities for surveillance and enforcement across the municipal area.
Sector officers have also been allocated specific polling areas and jurisdictions as per the pre-decided arrangements.
All members of the MCC monitoring committee have been directed to regularly submit reports of their inspections and actions to the Nodal Officer MCC, Tehsildar Sadar Mandi Sanjeev Dhiman, to ensure swift action on complaints and violations.
