AAP MP Malvinder Kang Raises Women’s Reservation, Delimitation Issues in Parliament

AAP MP Kang Raises Women Reservation, Delimitation Issue

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MP Malvinder Singh Kang strongly raised the issues of women’s reservation and delimitation in Parliament, targeting the central government over delays in implementation and concerns of fairness.

During his address, Kang demanded the immediate implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill 2023, stating that despite being passed, it has not yet been effectively enforced on the ground.

He asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party stands united on this issue, with support from party leadership including Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Kang also raised concerns over the delimitation process, highlighting that smaller states may face injustice if population-based seat allocation is implemented without balanced consideration. He urged the central government to ensure fairness and transparency in the process.

Speaking on women empowerment, Kang referred to Sikh history, emphasizing that Indian culture has always upheld the dignity and rights of women. He recalled how Sikh Gurus opposed social evils like the Sati system and advocated for gender equality centuries ago.

He concluded by urging the government to act swiftly on women’s reservation and ensure that democratic representation becomes more inclusive and equitable.
