Fazilka: In a major development, a drone carrying heroin from Pakistan was recovered near the India-Pakistan border in Fazilka.
The recovery was made in the area of BOP Tahliwala, where security forces detected suspicious drone activity. Acting swiftly, a joint team of police and the Border Security Force (BSF) sealed the area and launched an intensive search operation.
Drone Recovered from Wheat Fields
During the search, the drone was found crashed in a wheat field near the border. Upon inspection, approximately 544 grams of heroin was recovered from the drone.
Police Statement
According to officials, information regarding drone movement in the border area was received, following which immediate action was taken. The area was cordoned off, and a thorough search was conducted, leading to the recovery.
Initial Investigation
Preliminary investigation suggests that the drone crashed due to a technical fault while attempting to deliver the narcotics.
The seized heroin has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered by the police.

Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to trace the network involved in cross-border drug smuggling. Officials stated that further action will be taken based on findings during the investigation.
