Haryana Announces Urban Local Body and Panchayat By-Elections 2026

Haryana Local Body Elections Announced for May 10

The Haryana State Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-elections to urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions in the state. The election schedule was officially declared on April 13, 2026.

According to the announcement, elections will be held for three major municipal corporations — Panchkula, Ambala, and Sonipat — on May 10, 2026. The results will be declared on May 13.

Election Schedule Details

State Election Commissioner Devender Kalyan informed that voting will be conducted across multiple urban and rural bodies, including Rewari Municipal Council, Uklana, Dharuhera, and Sampla. Elections will also be held for two Zila Parishads and 12 Panchayat Samitis.

Additionally, voters will participate in elections for municipal bodies in Tohana, Jhajjar, Rajound, Taraori, Sadhaura, and Kanina.

Nomination Process

The nomination process will begin on April 21 and continue until April 25. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 27, while April 28 will be the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Election symbols will also be allotted on the same day.

Re-Polling Provision

In case of any requirement, re-polling will be conducted on May 12, followed by the declaration of final results on May 13.

The State Election Commission stated that all arrangements are being made to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the elections across Haryana.
