A tragic road accident near Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh claimed the life of a young man on Thursday morning, sending shockwaves across the local community.
According to reports, Lovepreet Singh, son of Pratap Singh and a resident of Teda Kalan village, was travelling towards Amritsar on his bicycle when the incident occurred.
As he reached near the under-construction stadium close to Sensra Kalan village, a speeding car coming from the opposite direction allegedly hit him. The impact was severe, and the cyclist died on the spot.
Police Reach Spot After Accident
Local residents immediately informed the police following the accident. SHO Satnam Singh from Jhander Police Station arrived at the scene along with his team and assessed the situation.
Police officials took both damaged vehicles into custody and shifted the body to Civil Hospital, Ajnala, for post-mortem examination.
Investigation Underway
According to police sources, an investigation has been initiated and legal proceedings are underway. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding and negligence were the primary causes of the accident.
The tragic incident has left the victim’s family and residents of the village in deep mourning.
