Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan witnessed a vibrant Cultural Event in Srinagar at Lok Bhavan last evening, where traditional folk dances and music of Jammu and Kashmir were showcased. The event highlighted the region’s rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions.
The Vice President is currently on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, marking his maiden trip to the Union Territory after assuming office.
21st Convocation at Kashmir University – Cultural Event in Srinagar
Today, he is scheduled to attend the 21st Convocation Ceremony of the University of Kashmir as the Chief Guest. The event will be attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Vice Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan, and several dignitaries, academicians, senior administrative, judicial and police officials, along with members from various sections of society.
Authorities have put in place robust security arrangements across Srinagar and other parts of the region to ensure the smooth conduct of the high-profile event.
Warm Welcome at Airport
The Vice President arrived in Srinagar yesterday and was accorded a warm welcome at Srinagar International Airport. He was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Health and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, and other senior officials.
The visit underscores the Centre’s continued engagement with Jammu and Kashmir, with a focus on cultural promotion and educational excellence.
