Two Arrested in Attempted Murder Case of Himachal CM Advisor’s Son in Shimla

Two Held in Attack on CM Advisor’s Son in Shimla

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: Police have arrested two accused in connection with the attempted murder attack on Aryan Chauhan, son of Naresh Chauhan, the principal media advisor to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to trace a third suspect involved in the incident.

According to reports, the arrests were carried out by Shimla Police. The accused have been identified as Charanjit Singh, a resident of Sanjauli Main Bazaar who works as a vehicle mechanic, and Tashi Negi, a resident of Narkanda.

Attack Took Place in Mashobra

The incident occurred on March 20 in Mashobra near Shimla, when the attackers allegedly attempted to shoot Aryan Chauhan while he was driving. The accused reportedly parked their car in the middle of the road and tried to open fire.

However, the victim managed to escape by abandoning his vehicle and jumping down a slope, thereby saving his life. Following the incident, Dhalli police station registered a case and launched an investigation.

Fake Number Plate and Tampered Vehicle Records

Investigators revealed that the accused used a vehicle fitted with a fake Manali registration plate, and the chassis number had been deliberately erased to conceal its identity.

Police teams visited several car dealerships in Shimla to trace the vehicle’s original chassis number. The investigation further uncovered that the suspects had created duplicate keys and tampered with the vehicle’s software, making it difficult for authorities to retrieve authentic ownership records.

Officials stated that the search operation for the third accused is ongoing, and further arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.
