A daring robbery unfolded at a jeweler’s shop in Purana Shala police station area under Dera Baba Nanak constituency, where thieves tied up the watchman, dumped him in a gutter-like drain, broke locks, and fled with valuables.
Robbery Details
Thieves stole 3.5kg silver, 12 gold rings, 2.5 tolas gold, 10 children’s rings, and ₹23,000 cash after smashing shutters around midnight. Some valuables and empty gold boxes were left behind; thieves also took the DVR.
Shop Owner’s Account
Owner Vinod Kumar (son of Surinder Nath, Saidowal Kalan) closed shop at 8 PM; security alarm triggered at midnight via CCTV. Watchman’s phone was off; upon arrival, he found ransacked store and bound watchman near gutter with gold boxes.
Police Probe
SHO Surinderpal Singh assured swift arrests via nearby CCTV checks. Shopkeeper noted prior unsolved thefts in area, demanding justice. Investigation underway to nab culprits.
