Awantipora, December 22 – Police arrested a terrorist associate during a cordon and search operation in Wuan Khroo area on Monday, recovering a pistol and live ammunition from his possession. Officials stated the joint operation involved Awantipora Police, 50 Rashtriya Rifles, and 185 Battalion CRPF.
The arrested individual was identified as Javed Ahmed Hajam, son of Abdul Rashid Hajam from Gulab Bagh Tral. The search team seized one pistol and five live rounds during the action.
Preliminary investigation reveals the accused was aiding active terrorists in Pampore, Tral, and Awantipora areas by supplying weapons and ammunition, and facilitating their movement.
