Swami Avimukteshwaranand Faces Stronger Legal Action After POCSO Medical Confirmation

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Faces POCSO Case Action

Swami Avimukteshwaranand is facing intensified legal trouble as medical reports have confirmed allegations of sexual abuse against two minor students. The Jhunsi police conducted medical examinations of both victims on Wednesday, which corroborated the claims of sexual assault, according to complainant Ashutosh Brahmachari.

The law is now expected to strengthen the case against Swami Avimukteshwaranand. In an effort to avoid immediate arrest, he has filed a bail petition in Allahabad High Court, which will be heard on Friday by a single bench led by Justice Jitender Kumar Sinha. The police are also expected to submit the medical report to the court, which could significantly impact the proceedings.

If the High Court denies relief, authorities may arrest Swami Avimukteshwaranand at any time.

POCSO Case Filed at Jhunsi Police Station

A case under the POCSO Act has been registered at Jhunsi Police Station against Swami Avimukteshwaranand, his disciple Mukundanand Giri, and three unidentified individuals. The case was filed following court orders, and recent investigations have also brought the names of Arvind Mishra and Prakash Upadhyay to light.

The allegations relate to sexual abuse of two boys during the Magh Mela, initially highlighted in media reports. A petition under IPC Section 173(4) was filed in the District Court, after which ADJ, Special Court for Rape and POCSO cases Vinod Kumar Choursia, directed Jhunsi Police to register and investigate the matter.

Swami Denies Allegations, Claims Conspiracy

Swami Avimukteshwaranand has described the allegations as a government conspiracy. He stated that he would cooperate with the police investigation but emphasized that due to public mistrust in the Uttar Pradesh Police, the case should ideally be investigated by authorities from another state.

The case is ongoing, and the upcoming High Court hearing will determine whether Swami Avimukteshwaranand will receive interim bail or face arrest in light of the confirmed medical evidence.
