Rajamouli recently revealed that several crucial sequences of the film were shot using advanced motion capture technology at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The newly launched facility is being described as India’s most sophisticated motion capture lab.
The director shared that such world-class infrastructure was not available during his earlier projects. Reflecting on films like Baahubali: The Beginning and Eega, he said that access to this technology could have elevated those films even further.
According to Rajamouli, the new motion capture setup eliminates the need to outsource complex sequences internationally and allows Indian filmmakers to imagine and execute large-scale cinematic moments domestically with global precision.

Even before its Indian release, Vaaranasi has created international excitement. The film’s first glimpse was showcased at the prestigious Le Grand Rex in Paris during a major trailer festival. The response was reportedly electrifying, with the auditorium echoing with applause and cheers.
