The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has expressed deep concern over the rising trend of misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to create videos that hurt the sanctity of Sri Harmandir Sahib and the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.
Following the circulation of such videos on various social media platforms, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami has taken serious note of the matter and issued directions for action against the concerned accounts and individuals.
Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that the misuse of AI technology is deeply hurting Sikh religious sentiments. He emphasized that the SGPC is adopting a serious approach to tackle such incidents and is working with AI experts to prevent the spread of such objectionable content.
He further added that Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, is the central religious place of Sikhs and a symbol of universal brotherhood and harmony. Any attempt to distort its image through manipulated videos is unacceptable.
The SGPC President urged the government to take strict legal action against those responsible to prevent such incidents in the future. He also appealed to the public not to share any such videos that could hurt religious sentiments.
