Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has expressed deep concern over the increasing trend of misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to create objectionable videos that hurt the sanctity of Sri Harmandir Sahib and the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.
After several such videos surfaced on different social media platforms, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami took serious note of the issue and directed action against the concerned accounts and individuals.
Dhami stated that the misuse of AI is causing deep hurt to Sikh religious sentiments. He emphasized that the SGPC is treating the matter with utmost seriousness and is working with experts in the AI field to curb the spread of such content.
He further added that Sri Harmandir Sahib, the holiest shrine of Sikhism, stands as a symbol of universal brotherhood and peace. Any attempt to distort its image through manipulated videos is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.
Calling it a highly serious issue, Dhami urged the government to adopt a strict approach and ensure strong action against those responsible. He also appealed to the public not to share such videos that could hurt religious sentiments.
