Political activity in Punjab is gaining momentum ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, with parties carefully planning their next moves. Amid this evolving political landscape, the Shiromani Akali Dal’s ‘Punjab Bachao Rally’ held in the Jagraon Assembly constituency has intensified political discussions in the state.
During the rally, party president Sukhbir Singh Badal made remarks that drew significant attention. While addressing party supporters, he hinted at support for former MLA S.R. Kler, a statement that political observers are interpreting as an informal announcement of the party’s candidate for the constituency.
Although no official declaration was made, Badal’s comments were seen as a clear political signal regarding the party’s strategy for the upcoming elections.
Encouraged by the large turnout at the rally, Badal expressed confidence that S.R. Kler would secure a decisive victory in the next Assembly elections. He claimed that the win could come with a margin of 25,000 to 30,000 votes, a projection considered politically significant for the Jagraon seat.
