In a major development in the Gurdwara Amb Sahib land sale controversy, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has ordered the transfer of Secretary Pratap Singh with immediate effect.
The action comes after it was revealed that Secretary Pratap Singh had signed documents related to the sale of land belonging to Gurdwara Amb Sahib, triggering widespread concern and criticism within Sikh circles.
Following the decision, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal has been appointed as the new SGPC Secretary, replacing Pratap Singh.
The issue had recently gained momentum after former Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and Giani Ranjit Singh raised the matter during a press conference, questioning the circumstances surrounding the alleged land sale.
