SGPC Starts Free Langar Service for Patients at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar

Launches Langar Service at Amritsar Hospital

Patients undergoing treatment at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Hospital in Amritsar and their attendants will now be able to receive free meals as the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has officially started a langar service at the hospital premises.

The langar service was formally inaugurated today by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami after performing Ardas following the recitation of Mool Mantar and Gurmantra. The initiative was earlier approved by the SGPC’s internal committee as part of its humanitarian services.

Upon his arrival at the hospital, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami was welcomed by Director Principal Dr. Rajeev Devgan and Medical Superintendent Dr. Karamjit Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, SGPC President Dhami said that the organization has always remained committed to serving humanity in line with the teachings and inspiration of the Sikh Gurus. He stated that the decision to arrange langar for patients and needy visitors was taken to provide support and relief to those coming from distant places for medical treatment.

He added that the initiative would offer great comfort to patients and their attendants visiting Amritsar for healthcare services. Dhami also thanked the hospital administration, including the Director Principal and Medical Superintendent, for their cooperation in successfully starting the service.

Several dignitaries were present during the inauguration, including SGPC member Gurmeet Singh Booh, Nursing Superintendent Navkiran Kaur, OSD Satbir Singh, Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Private Secretary Shahbaz Singh, Assistant Secretary Harbhajan Singh Vakta, Sri Darbar Sahib Manager Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Additional Manager Bikramjit Singh Jhangi, Balwinder Singh, and other officials.
