The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has invited passport applications from Sikh devotees wishing to join the religious delegation scheduled to visit Pakistan in June 2026 to mark the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Sharing details, SGPC Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahilwan said that every year a group of Sikh pilgrims is sent to Pakistan to commemorate the anniversary at historic Sikh shrines. This year’s jatha will travel in June, and interested devotees must submit their passports by March 31, 2026.
Applicants are required to submit their passports at the SGPC headquarters through the travel department along with a recommendation from their respective SGPC constituency member. Devotees must also attach a copy of a valid identity document such as an Aadhaar card or voter ID.
The SGPC urged pilgrims to submit documents within the deadline so that further formalities can be completed and the applications forwarded to the government authorities for necessary approvals.
The annual pilgrimage provides Sikh devotees an opportunity to visit sacred gurdwaras located in Pakistan and pay homage on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s death anniversary.
