Amritsar: To commemorate the sacred occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organized a grand Gurmat Samagam at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. The event, hosted by the SGPC Directorate of Education, saw enthusiastic participation from students of SGPC-run schools and colleges.
Students presented soulful Gurbani Kirtan, Kavishri, and poetry recitals, reflecting Sikh history and spiritual values. Art exhibitions were also organized by SGPC-affiliated educational institutions, drawing strong interest from the congregation. Additionally, Gatka competitions showcased traditional Sikh martial arts, drawing applause from attendees.
SGPC officials stated that the event was held under the guidance of SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami. They emphasized that the purpose of the event was to connect children and youth with their rich heritage, Sikh values, and history. SGPC officials reiterated that alongside modern education, the organization continues to impart spiritual knowledge and traditional Sikh martial arts training to students.
Special Gatka competitions were also held at Ghanta Ghar Plaza, where students from SGPC educational institutions actively participated. The audience appreciated the skill and discipline displayed by the participants.
The program was attended by senior SGPC officials, educators, preachers, and community members, reinforcing the importance of preserving Sikh culture, tradition, and spiritual values for future generations.
