SGPC Forms AI Expert Panel to Shield Sikh Dignity from Online Abuse

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has constituted a sub-committee of AI and internet specialists to combat videos and content defaming Sikh faith, following an Executive Committee decision in Amritsar on February 2. This move targets the rising misuse of artificial intelligence on social media hurting Sikh sentiments, with the panel tasked to enforce legal and technical blocks. Secretary Sardar Pratap Singh revealed the committee includes Dr. Harjinder Singh Sandhu (USA), Sardar Harmeet Shah Singh (UK), Dr. Sarbjoat Singh (UK), Dr. Sarpreet Singh (Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib), Dr. Gurpal Singh Khalsa (College Patiala), Dr. Jagdeep Singh Malhi and Dr. Satindarpal Singh (Guru Nanak Engineering College, Ludhiana); coordinated by SGPC System Administrator Sardar Karmveer Singh.

The group will engage major AI firms to halt such derogatory material spreading online. This initiative reflects SGPC’s proactive stance on protecting religious honor in the digital age amid growing concerns. Community leaders anticipate swift action to restore faith in online platforms.
