Shimla: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI), Himachal Pradesh, has strongly condemned the alleged obscene chat controversy involving a professor at Shoolini University, calling the incident serious, shameful, and highly condemnable.
The organization stated that the incident represents not only a violation of a teacher’s moral and professional responsibilities but also a serious blow to the dignity of the traditional teacher-student relationship. According to SFI, educational institutions are centers of social development where students must receive a safe, respectful, and motivating environment. Incidents of this nature raise serious concerns about the credibility of the academic system.
SFI expressed support for the ongoing student protests, describing their anger as justified and emphasizing that the issue directly concerns student safety and dignity on campus.
The organization has demanded an immediate high-level, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the matter. It further called for the immediate dismissal of the accused professor if found guilty, along with strict legal action.
Additionally, SFI urged the university administration to strengthen internal safety mechanisms, including activating and reinforcing the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and ensuring accountability if administrative negligence is discovered.
The student body warned that failure by the university administration to take swift, transparent, and concrete action could lead to a statewide agitation led by SFI, holding the administration fully responsible for any escalation.
