A delegation of Sanatan Dharam Suraksha Parishad, led by Chief Gau Rakshak Pandit Avan Parashar and General Secretary (Retd. Tehsildar) JP Salwan, met SDM-1 Alka Kalia to discuss the growing crisis of stray cattle struggling due to food and medical shortages.
During the meeting, the leaders explained the organization’s commitment, working system, and objectives. The team highlighted that nearly 75% of stray animals are suffering on the streets because of a severe shortage of fodder and medicines. Without proper food, cattle are forced to consume garbage, including soil, plastic, glass pieces, blades, and rusted iron, leading to serious diseases and deaths.
To address the crisis, the organization has been spreading awareness in temples and schools about the traditional practice of offering the first roti to cows. Volunteers are also working selflessly to protect and care for stray cattle.
SDM Alka Kalia appreciated the efforts of the Sanatan Dharam Suraksha Parishad and assured full possible support from the administration.
On the occasion, the delegation honored her with a sacred thread symbolizing Lord Shri Ram, a memento of Mother Cow, yoga literature, and a bouquet.
Several members, including advocates and social workers, were present during the meeting.
