Residents of B-Block Flats, Ranjit Avenue, met with Mayor Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia and submitted a petition requesting development and maintenance of the local Ranjit Park. The petition, handed over by Chairman Ratan Singh, President Manish Kumar, Vice President Parmpal Kaur, Secretary DS Bamra, and Finance Secretary Sharnpal Singh, highlighted the urgent need for park improvements.
The residents emphasized that people of all ages, including children and seniors, extensively use the park, but issues such as safety, cleanliness, and maintenance affect its usability. They requested that the park’s boundary grill be raised, a spring mechanism be installed at the entrance, the lawn be renovated, and a full-time gardener be appointed.
Currently, the Mohalla Sudhar Committee receives only ₹4,000 for gardeners, which is insufficient for such a large park, and residents urged an increase. They also suggested constructing a badminton court in the children’s play area and repairing gym equipment.
The meeting was also attended by PSIC Vice Chairman and AAP Lok Sabha Incharge Jaskaran Singh Badesha and AAP leader Arvinder Singh Bhatti, who supported the residents’ demands for park development.
