Raja Ghepan Predicts Good Harvest, Low Flood Risk in Lahaul Valley

Raja Ghepan Forecasts Good Harvest in Lahaul

In a significant spiritual announcement, the revered deity Raja Ghepan of Lahaul Valley has predicted a year of prosperity, assuring that the risk of floods will remain low and agricultural output will be strong.

The prophecy was delivered through Guru Shri Tashi during the Lamoi night of the Jagandag Puna festival in the tribal region of Lahaul. During the sacred ritual, it was declared that rainfall this year would remain below normal, reducing the chances of flooding. Despite lower rainfall, farmers and orchard owners were assured that irrigation would not pose major challenges, and crop yields are expected to be good. The divine message also indicated a likely decline in diseases across the region.

Raja Ghepan further advised devotees to conduct religious rituals in the temple following proper traditions and customs.

As part of the sacred procession held every third year, Raja Ghepan and Goddess Voti will visit Mata Mrikula Temple in Udaipur for a ceremonial meeting. During this holy pilgrimage, both deities travel across Lahaul Valley for nearly three months. The final leg of the journey concludes in Sissu after reaching Koksar.

The pilgrimage, beginning in October, draws thousands of devotees. Those whose wishes are fulfilled offer “Jagra” in each village to Raja Ghepan and Goddess Voti as a mark of gratitude.

During the divine play (Dev Khel), Raja Ghepan also stated that if invited by his elder brother Jamlu Devta from Malana village, he would certainly visit the temple.

The prophecy concluded with blessings for peace, prosperity, healthy lives, good harvests and minimal flood risk across the entire Lahaul region.
