Senior Congress leaders Rahul, Kharge arrived in Barnala today to address Punjab Congress’ ‘MNREGA Bachao Rally’ and ‘Kisan Mazdoor Rally’.
The rally is being held at the grain market in Barnala and is being seen as a significant political beginning ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. Party leaders are expected to raise issues concerning farmers, labourers, and employment schemes during the gathering.
Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, senior leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Pargat Singh, Amrita Warring, and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa along with the entire Punjab Congress leadership are also present at the rally.
Political observers believe the event marks an early mobilization effort by the Congress party as it gears up for the upcoming electoral battle in the state.
